BVB let victory slip through their fingers

Dortmund were leading 2-0 at the break thanks to goals from Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (12’) and Marco Reus (45’+1) and looked on course for victory, which would see them climb further away from the relegation zone. Paderborn, however, had other ideas. Lukas Rupp got one back in the 60th minute and Mahir Saglik levelled with just nine minutes left on the clock. Marco Reus was stretchered off in the 67th minute.

The game between Mainz and Freiburg also ended 2-2. Junior Diaz put the hosts in front shortly after the half way point of the first half but the visitors levelled instantly though Jonathan Schmid. The guests then were put on course for a third successive win thanks to Admir Mehmedi’s 58th minute goal, but Stefan Bell’s late goal rescued a point for the hosts (88’).
