Barcelona and Ter Stegen in dominate victory

FC Barcelona, with German national goalkeeper Marc Andre Ter Stegen in goal, returned to the top of La Liga after thrashing Deportivo Alavés 6-0 on Saturday. Toni Kroos and Real Madrid will return to the top later this evening with a win over CA Osasuna in the 8.45pm kick off.

Luis Suarez scored twice for Barcelina, while Neymar, Lionel Messi, Ivan Rakitic and an owngoal completed the rout.

Arsenal get back to winning ways

Arsenal ended their winless run in the English Premier League after a 2-0 win over Hull City. The Gunners, who had lost the last two games, had World champions Mesut Özil and Shkodran Mustafi in the starting eleven for the game.

Alexis Sanchez scored both goals, one from close range in the first half before a penalty sealed the points in injury time after Sam Clucas was sent off for the visitors for handball on the line. The win moved Arsene Wenger’s side up to third in the table with 50 points, nine behind leaders Chelsea. Tottenham lie second on goal difference, while Manchester City are fourth on 49. Manchester United moved up to 5th with a 2-0 win over Watford, though Liverpool could leapfrog them with a win in the late game against Tottenham.
