Bale at the double as Kroos and Real defeat Leganés 3-0

Gareth Bale was the central figure as Champions League winners Real Madrid preserved their lead at the top of the Spanish Primera División. The Wales international led his side to a 3-0 victory at home to CD Leganés on matchday 11.

Bale notched a first-half brace to effectively decide the encounter, before Alvaro Morata added a third after fine build-up play from world champion Toni Kroos. The Germany international also picked up a yellow card in the first period, as did Cristiano Ronaldo. Real’s haul of 27 points means they remain top of the league regardless of the other results this matchday.
