The German teams’ opponents for the Europa League Round of 32 have been confirmed: Borussia Dortmund will take on Porto while FC Augsburg are to face Liverpool under manager Jürgen Klopp and Germany international Emre Can. FC Schalke 04 have been drawn against Ukrainian club Shakhtar Donetsk and Bayer Leverkusen come up against Sporting Lisbon to fight for a place in the last 16.
Germany captain Bastian Schweinsteiger and his Manchester United travel to the home of Danish champions FC Midtiylland for the first leg of the round, Valencia with World Cup winner Shkodran Mustafi will meet Austria’s Rapid Vienna. Elsewhere, Lukas Podolski will lock horns with former DFB teammate and old friend Miroslav Klose as Galatasaray take on Lazio.
Because Liverpool, Lazio, Schalke, Man United and Leverkusen were all seeded, they will enjoy the home advantage in the second leg. The first leg of every fixture will be played on the 18th February 2016, the deciding leg a week later on the 25th. The final will take place on the 18th May in the St. Jakobvs.Park in Basel.
