Algarve Cup: Germany with a good start

The German Women's National Team of the German Football Association (DFB) start the Algarve Cup in Portugal with a success. Germany won its kick-off game against Finland in Loulé with 5:0 (0:0).

Having a few problems in the first half, Potsdam's Conny Pohlers could mark the first goal in the second half bringing the team of National-Coach Silvia Neid in a 1:0 (60.) lead. World Footballer Birgit Prinz of 1. FFC Frankfurt gave the crucial assist with a semi-high cross. Finally, Sonja Fuss (Brauweiler Pulheim 2000) ended the one-sided second half of the match with her goal to the final 5:0 (89.).

Furthermore, Germany will play Sweden (Saturday, 6 pm) and Norway (Monday, 7.30 pm) in the course of the tournament.
