Kaiserslautern will be back in the Bundesliga next season, after a four year absence, having secured promotion from the second division with two games left to play. Germany captain Michael Ballack's former club lost 1-0 to Hansa Rostock on Friday, but third-placed Augsburg´s 1-1 draw at FSV Frankfurt on Sunday means Kaiserslautern can now finish no lower than second. On Monday, Energie Cottbus celebrated a 4-2 against Union Berlin.
Second-placed St Pauli are set to claim the second automatic promotion spot, while Augsburg, in third, would have to play-off, over two legs, against the side which finishes third from bottom of the Bundesliga.
