The Mighty Warriors, who Germany face in their opening fixture on 3rd August (23:00 CEST), were beaten 3-0 by China. Wang Shanshan and Yang Li (2) grabbed the goals. Zimbabwe’s physicality, stamina and desire impressed, but China dominated the game and deservedly claimed a convincing victory.
"I witnessed a lot of positive things. We’ve learned a lot," explained head coach Shradeck Mlauzi after the match. Zimbabwe received plenty of plaudits on social media during and after the match, despite the defeat.
