Younes: "Take momentum into the Czech Republic game"

A press conference was held on Sunday following Germany's 3-0 victory over Denmark in their second group encounter of the U21 European Championships in the Czech Republic. Amin Younes and Joshua Kimmich took questions from the media and also spoke about the upcoming decisive game with tournament hosts Czech Republic on Tuesday (20:45 CEST).

Amin Younes on...

...the upcoming encounter with the Czech Republic: "The victory against Denmark gave us a big motivational push. We want to take the momentum into the game with the Czech Republic."

...his goals with the U21 national team: "I'm just having fun being part of the team. I'm thankful for all the trust that I've received. But I didn’t come here to win "Man of the Match" against Denmark. I want to win the European Championship."

...Joshua Kimmich: "Josh was already a massive help for us in the game with Serbia. He was crucial in the build up to our first goal against Denmark, as he won possession. I have to say that he has done a very, very good job so far."

...on Dominique Heintz: "I’ve already known Dominique for some time now. He is a great guy, modest and completely honest. We all get along great with him. He came into the team for our second game and played like he has never done anything else."

...his sporting idols: "I admire Angel di Maria – he is also a lefty. He is a player that can make the difference and his dribbles are extremely effective.

Joshua Kimmich on...

...their next opposition: "Czech Republic were clearly the better side in the first half against Serbia. They could've held a 5-0 lead at half time already. They have fast and good players in their team and defensively they are solid as well. They will try to utilize their pace against us, but if we play to our standard we will be strong enough to beat them."

...his performance so far at the EURO: "It's only been two games and in the first I was brought on at half time. I hope that I can continue to prove my worth."

...his talent: "We are always told that talent is only one aspect of success. We are here at the U21 European Championships and you have to work hard to win. Ambition is important and a strong will."

...on Amin Younes: "I wouldn't have liked to play against Amin yesterday. Denmark's right back definitely felt a little dizzy at times. I wonder if he was able to sleep well last night."

...on his new club FC Bayern München: "Not long until I get started at FC Bayern. It's going to be a completely new world for me and a new challenge. I haven’t been in the spotlight that much, but I'm sure it will change once I'm there. It's going to be an exciting time."

...Bastian Schweinsteiger: "Obviously "Schweini" is a huge role model for me, but starting next season we will be team mates and to a certain extent rivals. I do hope that I will get time on the pitch at Bayern. But in the end it's all based on my own performance."
