Wück names 22-man squad for Development Tournament

From one competition to the next for Germany's U17 national team, who are set to compete in the UEFA Development Tournament in Croatia next week. After the successful Four Nations Tournament in Thüringen, U17 head coach Christian Wück has his eyes on the next trophy. Wück has named a 22-man squad for what he labelled the “little Confederations Cup”, all of whom are new to the U17 national setup, with the exception of goalkeeper Luis Klatte.

“We have called up 22 new players, because we want to give all the boys a chance to show what they can do,” declared Wück. The coach also stated his delight with Croatia as a host nation for the Development Tournament ahead of their also hosting the U17 EURO 2017 in May. “We are getting to know the place and the conditions, and these things can be very important.”

The Germany U17 side get going in the tournament on Wednesday 28th September against Greece (13:00 CEST kick off), then play again two days later on Friday 30th September against host side Croatia (20:00 CEST). They will go onto meet England on Monday 3rd October (18:30 CEST).
