Wormuth calls up four players to U20 squad

The Germany U20 national side are having to contend with a few drop-outs ahead of their Mercedes-Benz Elite Cup opener against Turkey on Wednesday. Manager Frank Wormuth is responding to four absentees as Tim Kleindienst (SC Freiburg), Marius Wolf (1860 München), Levin Öztunali (Werder Bremen) and Mahmoud Dahoud (Borussia Mönchengladbach) have all left the squad with injuries. In their place, the DFB manager has called up four replacements. Marvin Friedrich (Schalke 04), Maximilian Eggestein (Werder Bremen), Gianluca Rizzo (Borussia Mönchengladbach) and Nadiem Amiri (TSG 1899 Hoffenheim) have all received their first call-ups to the U20 squad,

The Mercedes-Benz Elite Cup will take place from this Wednesday until Tuesday 13th October at several venues in Baden-Württemberg. After the opening game against Turkey in Ulm, the Germany side will play Holland in Aalen on the 10th October before facing England in Heidenheim three days later.
