World Cup 2022 opening game to be played on the 21st November

The opening match of the World Cup in 2022 has been planned for the 21st November 2022 (Monday). This was decided by the executive committee of FIFA on Friday. The tournament, which will end on the 18th December (Qatar’s national day), will only last 27 days.

The finals were moved to winter last March, as there are temperatures of up to 50 degree Celsius in a Persian Gulf summer.
