World champion Podolski to move to Japan

World champion Lukas Podolski will leave Turkish record champions Galatasaray in the summer to move to Japanese J-League club Vissel Kobe. Both Galatasaray and Podolski himself announced the news on Thursday.

“I can confirm that I will be moving to J-League club Vissel Kobe at the end of the season,” Podolski wrote on his Instagram account. The former 1. FC Köln and FC Bayern München man has been at Galatasaray since 2015. His contract was due to last until 2018. Podolski will make his final international appearance for Germany in Dortmund against England on 22nd March.
