Women's team to play friendlies in Regensburg and Paderborn

The Germany women’s side will play two friendlies ahead of the Olympic Games in 2016, in Regensburg and Paderborn. This was decided by the DFB executive committee at their meeting in Frankfurt. The game in Regensburg will take place on the 13th July, and the one in Paderborn on the 22nd July. The opponents have not yet been confirmed.

Silvia Neid said: "We played in Paderborn ahead of the European Championships in 2013. I fondly remember the atmosphere and look forward to a good crowd, who will show their support in our last game before the Olympics. We will decide the opponents when we know who is in our group for the Olympics."

They plan to leave for Brazil on the 27th July. The Olympic women’s football tournament will be contested amongst 12 teams, with the first group games scheduled for the 3rd August.
