VfL Wolfsburg will wear a special kit in Saturday’s DFB Cup final (20:00 CEST) in memory of player Junior Malanda, who tragically passed away in January 2015. The green and white jerseys will have Malanda’s number 19 inside a heart on the front.
The Belgium U21 international lost his life in a car accident in Germany on 10th January. “It’s to show that Junior is in our hearts,” said Wolfsburg sporting director Klaus Allofs. “All of our games have been for him too. Now he isn’t just in our thoughts, but on our kits too.” The kits are a limited edition and will not go on sale to the public.
