Weiser: "We lacked a bit of luck"

After the game come the microphones. Journalists ask and players answer. Following every Bundesliga matchday, DFB.de summarise the opinions of the various Germany internationals involved. After Bundesliga matchday 31, we rounded up quotes from Thomas Müller, Julian Weigl, Sebastian Rudy and many more.

Hertha BSC 0-2 FC Bayern München

Mitchell Weiser: We lacked a bit of luck today. Especially in the first half, when we played some good football and had three or four good moves that could have lead to a goal if we had been a bit more purposeful.

Mario Götze: Our coach switched many things around at half-time. We know we didn't play so well in the first half. But it isn't so easy against deep-lying opponents, especially away from home. Nevertheless we've booked the three points and taken a giant stride!

Thomas Müller: It isn’t easy push yourself and play at your best every three or four days, especially when you are expected to win.

VfB Stuttgart 0-3 Borussia Dortmund

Julian Weigl: "It was important to disrupt Stuttgart's speed in attack at an early stage. We got stuck into the tackles well. When they did get a cross in, we had a lot of players in the box. Thus we were able to always create quick counters and find the spaces. We also saw our attacking moves through well. In terms of the timing of the goals, it was important to get the second shortly before half-time and to add another after the interval. Stuttgart didn't get back into the match. We want to keep putting in the best-possible performance. Every one of us out there on the pitch has the desire. If we keeping winning 3-0, I'll be very satisfied. We also managed to keep a clean sheet again and be compact in defence.

Matthias Ginter: We defended well from the beginning. We stood up to everything they could throw at us and countered well. The second goal before the break was really good for us. Just after the restart we were moving the ball well and managed to bag a third. In the end we could have had one or two more, but we are happy with the result . We will continue to try and win every game and go into the DFB Cup final with courage and confidence.

Borussia Mönchengladbach 3-1 TSG 1899 Hoffenheim

Sebastian Rudy: We made it too easy for Gladbach in the first half. They were able to control the action while we were chasing the ball. After the break we improved and wanted more from the game when we made it 2-1. That allowed Gladbach to wait for counterattacks and they used one of those to score their third.

FC Schalke 04 2-3 Bayer 04 Leverkusen

Bernd Leno: We wanted to show everyone that we want tobe in the Champions League. The team put in an outstanding performance in the second half and deserved the victory.

FC Ingolstadt 2-2 Hannover 96

Ron-Robert Zieler: The fact ist hat we have put on good displays in the last couple of matches – but it is unfortunately too late. We are still alive though and will continue to represent Hannover 96 football club and we are doing that well at the moment. We have been stuck down there for a long time now. We want to represent Hannover 96 properly until the end.
