Union spoil Berlin rival's party

City rivals 1. FC Union were the party poopers for promotion contenders Hertha BSC Berlin, when they took a point in a 2-2 draw from the Olympiastadion and prevented Hertha to go top of the table. Union themselves climb to fourth place and eye promotion.

SV Sandhausen and Jahn Regensburg celebrated crucial wins in their fight against relegation on Sunday. Sandhausen beat FC St. Pauli 4-1, Regensburg won at VfL Bochum 2-0.

1. FC Köln and Cottbus lost the connection to relegation spot three on Saturday. After an unspectacular 0-0 in Cottbus Köln fall back to tenth place, eight points behind Kaiserslautern. At the same time 1860 München beat MSV Duisburg 3-1.

Leaders Eintracht Braunschweig had to content with a 1-1 draw at home against promoted VfR Aalen on Friday. Sub Pierre Merkel secured the hosts at least a point, when he scored with his first touch of the ball in the match four minutes from time. 1. FC Kaiserslautern secured thrid place by beating Dynamo Dresden 3-0 later on.
