Under 21 with hard-fought win against the Faroe Islands

The German Under 21 national team has celebrated a fourth win in as many matches of the EC qualifiers after beating minnows Faroe Islands 3-2 (1-1) in Kassel, but had to struggle until a late strike by Amin Younes relieved coach Horst Hrubesch eight minute from time. The guest team had surprisingly taken the lead twice before.

Lots of control, but no danger. That was the way the match developed for most of the 90 minutes. In the 11th minute Arni Fredriksberg lobbed goalie Marc-André ter Stegen to make it 1-0, but even after the equalizer by Robin Knoche five minutes from half-time, didn't give much security.

After having a bunch of good possiblilities, it was again the Faroe Islands, who took the lead after 69 minutes by a short-range strike from Hørdur Askham. But Kevin Volland (74th) and Younes made it three points again at last.
