The Germany Under-20s capped off their 2017/2018 Elite League campaign with a further win to maintain their unbeaten record. The 3-0 win against Poland was the seventh game in succession that Frank Kramer’s side could not be defeated.
Germany’s top goalscorer Robin Hack got the opener for Germany in the 22nd minute, before an own goal by Dominik Jonczy (68’) and Freiburg’s Patrick Kammerbauer (78’) sealed the deal.
“We were really dominating by the time the second half rolled around. We created a multitude of chances and didn’t allow anything to break us down at the back,” said a satisfied Kramer after the game. “It’s a huge achievement by these boys, who don’t get as much game time as their older counterparts at club level, to still come together and remain undefeated against some top teams like Spain and France.”

After the 1-0 victory over Portugal last Thursday, the 3-0 win over Poland was their fifth of the 2017/2018 Elite League season.
The German youth side was the dominant one from the outset, but found it hard to pick any holes in the Polish defensive wall. The hosts allowed the first real chance on their goal in the 17th minute. But the shot from Kammerbauer cannoned off the post and back into the field of play. Five minutes later, the German’s executed their best move of the game. Eintracht Frankfurt’s Aymen Barkok crossed the ball in from the byline to the penalty spot into the path of Robin Hack, who made no mistake with the chance he was given.
Germany continued to dominate with half an hour left to play. They forced Poland to sit deep in their own half and had no trouble making chances. The own goal from Jonczy was a result of the building pressure. Kammerbauer put the icing on the cake in the 78th minute, when he coolly slotted home a rebound.
