U21s in pot 1 for Euros draw

The Germany U21s national team has been seeded alongside Portugal and hosts Poland in the draw for the group stages of the 2017 European Championships. UEFA made the announcement on Monday morning ahead of the event in Krakow on 1st December.

Poland are automatically seeded in pot 1 in group A as the tournament’s hosts. Germany head coach Stefan Kuntz’s side and the Portuguese are ranked highest by UEFA and as a result will be the first teams in groups B and C. England, Spain and Denmark will be drawn from pot 2, while the remaining nations, including Sweden, find themselves in pot 3 and will fill in the remaining two positions in the group before pot 2 is finally completed.
