U20s coach Kramer calls up 22 players

The Germany U20s national team will head into the 2017/18 season with a 22-man squad, as coach Frank Kramer and his men play their opening game against the Czech Republic on September 4th in Prague (18:00 CEST). Jordan Torunarigha (Hertha BSC), Dennis Geiger (TSG 1899 Hoffenheim) and Felix Passlack (Borussia Dortmund), who all featured on the first Bundesliga matchday last week for their domestic teams, have all been selected.

”After talks with U21s coach Stefan Kuntz, we’ve decided to widen the squad,” said Frank Kramer, who’ll be in charge of the U20s this season. “Experience on the international stage against top opponents is very important for the players' development. It should and will help them to make the next step in their careers.”

In preparation for the match against the Czech Republic, the U20s will face second-division side SpVgg Greuther Fürth on August 31st at the Sportpark Ronhof Thomas Sommer in Fürth (18:30 CEST).
