U20s beat Switzerland 2-1

The U20 national team has won their second game in a row. At the Edmund-Plambeck-Stadion in Norderstedt, Frank Kramer’s side overcame Switzerland 2-1, having beaten the Netherlands 1-0 last Thursday.

The German team had their first good chance in just the fourth minute, as Aymen Barkok sent his shot just over from 18 meters out. But it did not take the team long to make the break through, as Eduard Löwen found the back of the net from a freekick. The hosts continued to dominate, although couldn’t find a second before half time.

Shortly after the break, however, the DFB side doubled their lead. Julian Chabot was fouled in the box, and Görkem Saglam converted the resulting penalty. The Bochum player tested the Swiss keeper several more times in the game, but couldn’t extend the lead. In the 87th minute, Neftali Manzambi scored a consolation goal for Switzerland from the spot.
