U19s thrash USA in Elite Cup opener

Germany U19s have got their Elite Cup campaign off to a good start with a win in the Stuttgart’s GAZi stadium. Using this competition as a trial for the upcoming 2016 EUROs, Oliver Sorg’s U19s defeated USA 8-1 in front of 1,056 spectators.

In the first half, goals from Max Besuschkow and Philipp Ochs of VfB Stuttgart and TSG Hoffenheim made it 2-0. After the break, Leandro Putaro, Marvin Mehlem, Joshua Endres and Joshua Bitter scored along with a brace from Enis Bunjaki. Eryk Williamson the only goal for the US. One down-side of the match was that Lukas Boeder of Bayer Leverkusen received a red card in the 74th minute.

The U19s have upcoming games against Mexico on Friday, and against Scotland on Monday.
