U18s lose second game against France

Germany U18s lost their second clash with France in a few days. In Markranstädt, Guido Streichsbier’s side lost 4-2 to France. Last Friday, the two teams played out a 2-2 draw in Eilenburg.

Eric Hottmann fired Germany into the lead in the 35th minute before France found an extra gear, scoring three without reply. Erik Majetschak scored a late consolation before another injury time goal for the France contingent meant they ran out 4-2 victors.

“The first half was very even. We took the lead deservedly. Then, a mistake led to an equaliser. Suddenly, France played very well and scored every chance they got,” said Streichsbier. “It’s a learning process for the lads. They have to improve from the experience.”
