Six players from the U 21 have matured and moved on to the A-team in recent months. Marco Marin, Sami Khedira, Manuel Neuer, Mesut Özil, Jerome Boateng and Andreas Beck all saw playing time in the A-team. This triggered an overhaul of the U 21.
The roster against Slowenia included only five European champions, an indication of the transition taking place. In all probability, the game against the Czech Republic in 11 months will decide whether Germany qualifies for the Euro 2011 in Denmark. Until then, Adrion's job is to rebuild the team – with promising talents such as Holger Badstuber and Thomas Müller (both FC Bayern München) or Toni Kroos (Bayer Leverkusen).
