Two assists and a goal in four minutes for Özil

World Cup winner Mesut Özil and his club Arsenal ran riot in their Premier League fixture against Huddersfield town on Wednesday evening. The Gunners thumped their newly-promoted opponents 5-0 at the Emirates Stadium, as Özil scored and assisted twice in the space of four minutes.

The 29-year-old first assisted Olivier Giroud (68') and Alexis Sanchez (69') to make it 2-0 and 3-0, before his second of the season added a fourth in the 72nd minute. Alexandre Lacazette had given the London club the lead just three minutes into the match, while Giroud wrapped things up shortly before full time to complete his brace. Shkodran Mustafi played 90 minutes. Arsene Wenger's team now sit fourth on 28 points.

Antonio Rüdiger was the unlikely winner for champions Chelsea. The 24-year-old headed the Blues to a 1-0 win against Swansea City in the 55th minute, sending his club into third place in the league. It was Rüdiger's second competitive goal of the season, but his first in the Premier League.

Trapp starts in PSG win

After more than six months, Germany internation goalkeeper Kevin Trapp returned to the starting XI for Ligue 1 leaders Paris Saint-Germain. Coach Unai Emery picked the 27-year-old over regular keeper Alphonse Areola, as PSG ran out 2-0 winners at home to ES Troyes AC.

Trapp, who impressed with a series of big saves in the 2-2 draw against France a few weeks back, had little to do against Troyes, compared to in the friendly in Cologne. But when called upon, as he was in the 30th minute in a 1v1 against Stephane Darbion, the Germany keeper responded excellently.

Neymar (73') and Edinson Cavani (90') scored the two late goals after Cavani has missed a penalty late in the first half. Paris have a ten point lead at the top of the teable ahead of Olympique Marseille after 15 games. Julian Draxler did not make an appearance despite a strong performance in the 2-1 win against AS Monaco on Sunday.
