In preparation for the upcoming qualifiers for the Africa U-17 Championship Team Libya travelled to Heusenstamm , Germany from 22 August to 5 September. Funds for the training camp were made available by the German Federal Foreign Office. Organizing the project was duty of the DFB.
Coach Kemal Halat and Technical Director Antoine Hey were able to assemble a strong team in very little time. This was demonstrated by a convincing 3-0 victory against the U-17 of Kickers Offenbach in the final friendly match.
In order to get a true understanding for the professional football culture in Germany , the entire delegation from Libya went on to see the Bundesliga match 1899 Hoffenheim – Eintracht Frankfurt and for a guided tour of the Commerzbank Arena in Frankfurt.
