Top Women's Bundesliga matches to be shown live in Japan

Starting immediately, Women’s Bundesliga matches will be broadcast in full in Japan. Japanese TV channel Asahi has secured the rights to show the top match each week, for both this season and next. The games will be transmitted live in Japan after a delay.

The Asian niche broadcaster will receive a signal from Eurosport and will broadcast one top match from each week of league fixtures. DFB director Steffi Jones said of the deal: "This is another great endorsement for the Women’s Bundesliga brand and its high quality, and marks a further important step in developing the league."

Live Women’s Bundesliga games will be broadcast each Saturday at lunchtime European time. This Saturday, FF USV Jena and 1. FFC Turbine Potsdam face each other from 13:00 CET.
