Three points for three internationals

Draxler fires PSG to a win against Lyon

Paris St. Germain defeated Olympique Lyon 2-1 on the Ligue 1’s 30th matchday thanks to a goal from Julian Draxler. With their fourth win in a row, the capital city club trail leaders AS Monaco by three points again.

In the Parc des Princes, French striker Alexandre Lacazette gave the guests the lead through an early header in the 6th minute, but Paris turned the game around within the first-half: A beautiful passing move in the penalty box ended with an Adrien Rabiot with 11 minutes left to go before the break. Six minutes later, Javier Pastore squared the ball for the 23-year-old Draxler to turn the ball home in the blink of an eye from the centre of the box.

Rüdiger wins with Roma

In the Stadio Olimpico, Roma took the lead early on against their guests. Gregoire Defrel scored the goal only six minutes to make it 1-0 to Sassuolo, but it didn’t take long for the hosts to equalise. Seven minutes later, Roma’s Leandro Paredes struck from 22 metres out, and Mohamed Salah gave Roma the lead when he scored moments before the end of the half. After the break, the hosts remained comfortably in control until the end of the game, with the final goal of the match coming from former Bundesliga striker Edin Dzeko, who made it 3-1 in the 68th minute.

Ter Stegen in net for winners Barcelona

The 24-year-old FC Barcelona keeper saw his team go 1-0 down against Valencia, when Frenchman Eliaquim Mangala headed home after 29 minutes. However, Suarez was on hand to score at the other end six minutes later, and with a spot-kick after a penalty-area foul, Messi was able give the hosts the lead going into the break. Valencia responded well in the second-half, as Barca-loanee Munir brought the score level two minutes after the teams returned to the pitch. Ultimately, Barcelona triumphed 4-2, thanks to goals from Messi in the 53rd minute and Andre Gomes in the 89th minute.
