Ter Stegen’s Barca come back to beat Atletico

Germany international Marc-André ter Stegen helped FC Barcelona take a small step closer towards defending their UEFA Champions League title on Tuesday night. In a meeting between the two leading sides in Spain’s Primera Division, Luis Suarez scored twice to earn Barca a come-from-behind 2-1 win over Atletico Madrid in their quarterfinal first leg. The Catalan outfit, who had a man advantage for almost an hour, are now in a good position to seal their spot in the semi-finals next Wednesday at the Estadio Vicente Calderon (20:45 CEST).

Fernando Torres found a way past ter Stegen to put Atletico ahead on 25 minutes, but the former Liverpool and Chelsea striker was sent off soon after following two bookable offences. Suarez then struck twice in the space of ten minutes in the second half to earn victory for Barcelona.
