“Together, we have created something major”: The pleasure and pride were obvious when Kurt Gärtner, managing director of DFB-Medien, took stock of the rise and rise of DFB.net on the occasion of the software system's 10th anniversary on 12 November 2012.
From player registration, league and match organisation, to referee assignments or coach education: the organisation of professional and amateur football in Germany is no longer imaginable without using the the DFBnet modules developed by the DFB’s wholly-owned subsidiary, DFB-Medien.
Although the beginnings were difficult and scepticism was high, DFBnet is now a global leader in the field of Football-Management-Systems. It was adopted by the Lithuanian FA in 2011 and will be implemented in South Africa as well as in the Middle East.
Reason enough, for some 150 invited guests to celebrate the 10th anniversary of DFBnet at an event staged in the Fuchsbachtal Sport Hotel near Hannover in acknowledgment of a true success story.
