VfB Stuttgart’s relegation to the second division was confirmed yesterday and the club are already preparing for next season. Jürgen Kramny left his role as head coach earlier today. The 44-year-old took the job on 24th November 2015 but was unable to prevent their first relegation from the Bundesliga for 41 years.
“His contract only applied to the first division. He will now go back to his previous post as U23 head coach,” explained the club in a statement on Sunday. His contract is due to expire in 2017.
The demotion has claimed another victim. Bernd Wahler, who has been the club’s president since 2013, stepped down on Sunday with immediate effect.
