Since November 2004, DFB Consulting & Sales Services has cooperated with m4e, a licensing agency based in Munich, to develop the licensing business of the German Football Association (DFB). As part of a strategic realignment of its licensing policy, DFB Consulting & Sales Services has decided to not extend the agreement that is set to expire with effect from 31 December 2012.
Within the scope of a comprehensive re-orientation of its marketing strategy, the DFB aims to consolidate and synchronize its rights portfolio. Furthermore the association wants to establish a close and direct partnership with its license partners.
From the beginning of 2013, DFB Consulting & Sales Services GmbH is going to operate the DFB license business on its own and manage the commercial exploitation of
- the DFB’s word and design trademarks,
- the national team,
- the DFB mascot “Paule”,
- as well as the DFB-Cup, the 3rd
League and the Women’s football league.
Denni Strich, managing director of DFB Consulting & Sales Services, praised the outstanding commitment and excellent cooperation with m4e throughout the life of the cooperation. Nevertheless, he now looks forward to opening a new chapter of the DFB’s licensing business and to mastering new challenges with his team.
