Michael Skibbe takes over for Friedhelm Funkel as the new coach in Frankfurt. Coaching Eintracht Frankfurt will be the third stop in Germany’s most prestigious league for the 44-year old Skibbe, who had coached Borussia Dortmund (1998-2000) and Bayer Leverkusen (2005-2008) before.
As the assistant of Rudi Völler, he was part of the coaching staff of the German national team at the 2002 FIFA World Cup, when the Mannschaft had qualified for the final against Brazil. He was last coaching Galatasaray Istanbul.
