Silvia Neid is FIFA World Coach of the Year for Women’s Football 2013

Silvia Neid has been named FIFA World Coach of the Year for Women’s Football 2013. On Monday evening, the Germany national team coach was presented with the award at FIFA’s Ballon d’Or ceremony in Zurich for the second time since 2010, having been shortlisted alongside Sweden coach Pia Sundhage and Wolfsburg boss Ralf Kellermann.

"I’m delighted with this award and see it as a great tribute to women’s football in Germany as a whole," said Neid, before thanking her players and the DFB: "A coach can only perform well when they have a great employer behind them, which I do."
