Schweinsteiger records second win with Manchester United

World-Cup winner Bastian Schweinsteiger has celebrated his second win with his new side Manchester United. The Germany captain was introduced for the second half as the ‘Red Devils’ beat US team San Jose Earthquakes 3-1 in their second game of the International Champions Cup. Juan Mata, Memphis Depay and Andreas Pereira got the goals for the English side, whilst Fatai Alashe scored for the hosts.

Champions League winners FC Barcelona were also in action as part of the pre-season tournament in the USA. The Spanish champions, this time without Germany international goalkeeper Marc-André ter Stegen, were 2-1 winners against MLS side LA Galaxy in Pasadena. Barcelona’s next match will be against Schweinsteiger and United on Saturday in Santa Clara.

New signing Kevin Trapp started in goal for Paris Saint-Germain as they beat AC Florenz 4-2. The ex-Frankfurt goalkeeper played until the 65th minute before making way for Italian international Salvatore Sirigu. Germany striker Mario Gomez played the first half for the Italian side, before being replaced at half time.
