German international Bastian Schweinsteiger has returned to full training with treble-winners Bayern Munich after a three-month injury layoff. The 29-year-old completed his first session with the team on Wednesday in front of 400 onlookers.
Schweinsteiger appeared to be delighted with his return, and managed to complete initial tactical exercises, a football fitness course with shooting practice and a three-a-side tournament.
Bayern's midfield strategist has been sidelined with a persistent inflammation of the patella tendon, and underwent a second operation on his right ankle. He last played for the Bundesliga leaders in their 1-0 Champions League win over Skoda Pilsen on 5 November 2013.
