Schieber scores twice against Slovenia

Germany's Under 21 National Team beat Slovenia in convincing manner 3-0 (1-0) in an international friendly at the Playmobilstadion in Fürth. Julian Schieber of VfB Stuttgart was on target twice for the team of DFB coach Rainer Adrion.

He opened the score after 20 minutes, when he slotted in after a deadly pass from Mats Hummels. He also made it 3-0 in the 67th minute, the second goal came from central defender Holger Badstuber, who scored with his heel after Jens Hegeler had hit the post with a header (51st).

For the first time Adrion had called up striker Eric-Maxim Choupo-Moting (1. FC Nürnberg). Christopher Nöthe (Spvgg Greuther Fürth) and Stefan Reinartz (Bayer Leverkusen) were given a rest after they suffered minor injuries before the match.

On Tuesday the German Under 21 will meet Israel in Frankfurt (8.15 pm) for a second test.
