Sané stars in Man City win

Leroy Sané helped Manchester City make a big step forward in the English premier league as Pep Guardiola’s side won 2-0 away at Bournemouth to round out the 25th matchday of the season. The win moved City from fifth up to second in the table.

Man of the Match went to City’s Raheem Sterling. The England International opened the scoring just before the half hour thanks to great work from Sané and then set up the second goal after a great piece of skill on the left flank. The ball in towards Sergio Aguero in the middle was superb and the ball eventually found its way over the line via Bournemouth defender Tyrone Mings with 20 minutes to play.

Sane hits the bar

The game was the fifth successive start for the German International, who had begun the year injured. Sané looked strong on both flanks and hit the bar in the final few minutes after a wonderful piece of skill saw him turn two defenders in the box. He also flashed a shot just wide of the post in injury time. Adam Smith had a busy night keeping Sané, who was involved in so many of his teams forays forward, quiet.

Chelsea still lead the way after their 1-1 draw with Burnley saw them reach the 60 point mark. The lead is eight over City and 10 over Tottenham, who fell to third after losing 2-0 to Emre Can’s Liverpool. The Reds are fifth, just one point behind Spurs and fourth-placed Arsenal, who beat Hull City 2-0 at the weekend with a team including Per Mertesacker and Mesut Özil.
