Sané scores first Premier League goal in City win

Leroy Sané scored his first Premier League goal for Manchester City in the 2-1 win against Mesut Özil’s Arsenal. The 20-year-old scored the equaliser as City came from behind to win 2-1. Theo Walcott had put the Gunners in front within 5 minutes, Sané’s goal and a late strike from Raheem Sterling handed all three points to Pep Guardiola’s team.

In a wonderful gesture to their injured teammate, the City team emerged for kick-off all wearing Ilkay Gündogan on the back of their shirts. The Germnay international was ruled out for the near future with a ligament injury earlier this week.

The win takes City to second in the team, seven points behind Chelsea at the top. For Arsenal, it was the second consecutive defeat, which sees them drop down to fourth.
