Leroy Sané and Manchester City missed the chance to go second in the Premier League after only drawing 0-0 at home to ninth placed Stoke City. Pep Guardiola’s side drew level with Tottenham Hotspur on 56 points, but both lie ten points behind league leaders Chelsea.
Sané started for the sixth straight game and put on a strong performance, coming close to scoring twice. City piled on the pressure in the closing stages, but David Silva, Nicolas Otamendi and Kelechi Iheanacho all failed to force the ball over the line.
