Sané celebrates derby win in Premier League debut

Former FC Bayern coach Pep Guardiola secured a 2-1 derby victory at Manchester United over his old rival José Mourinho. Kevin De Bruyne was the standout player for Manchester City and led his team to victory with a goal and an assist. Germany international Leroy Sané was brought on after 60 minutes, while Ilkay Gündogan once again did not feature in City's squad.

City remain atop the Premier League table with four wins from as many games, while United dropped their first points and now sit three adrift their local rivals.

Belgium international De Bruyne, once unwanted by Mourinho at Chelsea FC, took revenge on his former manager with an impressive performance in the sold out Old Trafford. He bagged the opener after 15 minutes, coolly slotting home from the edge of the area. De Bruyne's attempt in the 36th minute struck the post, but fell kindly for team-mate Kelechi Ilheanacho, who converted from close range.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic, once forced out of the squad at FC Barcelona under Guardiola, pulled one back before half time, capitalising from a mistake by new City keeper Claudio Bravo - Ibrahimovic's fourth goal in his fourth league appearance for United. The intensity remained high in the second half, with chances at either end, but ultimately City held on to claim a prestigious derby victory.
