Sané brilliant as Manchester City cruise to 7-2 victory

Leroy Sané and Manchester City extended their lead at the top of the Premier League thanks to a 7-2 rout against Stoke City. They now lead Manchester United by two points after they drew with Liverpool 0-0. Antonio Rüdiger’s Chelsea didn’t have such a successful day, after they lost to last placed Crystal Palace 2-1. Per Mertesacker was also out of luck on Saturday. The Germany international and his Arsenal side lost to Watford 2-1, despite Mertesacker scoring himself from a corner.

Sané gets a goal and two assists

Manchester City were on fire from the very beginning of their game against Stoke. Leroy Sané was heavily involved in almost every one of their attacks, as shown by his goal and two assists. The 21-year-old could have had more though, after he missed a huge chance in the 8th minute to get the opener for his side. It didn’t make a difference though as City still scored three in a span of ten minutes. Sané assisted Raheem Sterling’s goal and was also heavily involved in the build up to David Silva’s. Sané got on the scoresheet himself in the 62nd minute.

Can almost scores the decisive goal

After today’s results Emre Can and Liverpool now lie in the seventh place, and 12 points behind leaders Manchester City. Emre Can had a great chance to win the game for the Reds, however, as the ball fell to him from five metres out, although he just couldn’t convert. Liverpool were the side on the front foot for the majority of the game, but ultimately, the fierce battle between Jürgen Klopp and Jose Mourinho finished without a winner.

Khedira makes comeback for Juventus

In the Serie A, Sami Khedira made his comeback for Juventus after a six week spell on the sidelines due to injury. Sami started for Juventus against Lazio but Juventus were dealt their first loss of the season. Khedira put in a good performance in the centre of midfield for the reigning Italian champions and almost scored from distance. The World Cup winner was substituted in the 65th minute as he eases his way back to full fitness.

Draxler and PSG celebrate dramatic win

In Ligue 1, Julian Draxler and his PSG teammates celebrated their eight win of the season against Dijon but it wasn’t as easy as they’d have liked. Draxler started for PSG for the fifth consecutive match and was involved heavily from the off as he played a key role in PSG’s opener. Dijon then equalised against the run of play but, while the opposition fans were still celebrating, Meunier scored to ensure the three points went to Paris.

Kroos and Real Madrid get late winner

Toni Kroos and Real Madrid left it late to beat Getafe as Cristiano Ronaldo scored the winner five minutes before the end. Toni Kroos played the whole ninety minutes in the hub of Real Madrid’s midfield ahead of Tuesday’s Champions League clash with Tottenham Hotspur.
