Sané and Gaudino in U19 squad for Euro qualifiers

The U19 German side will use big players in their hunt from European Championship qualification. Manager Marcus Sorg has announced his squad for the U19’s qualifiers taking place in Baden-Württemberg between 26-31st March. There are currently 23 players in the provisional squad, but on Wednesday this will be reduced to 18. Among those 23 are two Bundesliga players Gianluca Gaudino fo FC Bayern München and Leroy Sané, who recently scored for FC Schalke 04 against Real Madrid in the Champions League

The German side will play Slovakia, in their first game in Group 2, in Mannheim on 26th March (12:00 CET). They will then face Ireland on the 28th March (12:00 CET) in Sanhausen, before the final game with Czech Republic on 31st March (12:99 CET) in Walldorf. The aim is to make it to the Euro finals in Greece, taking place from 6th-19th June 2015.

Should they qualify, Germany have the opportunity to defend last year’s title. In 2014, the German side won the tournament with the likes of Davie Selke, Marc Stendera and Julian Brandt, all of whom are now established Bundesliga players.
