Germany international Antonio Rüdiger underwent successful surgery on his knee four days after suffering an anterior cruciate ligament tear in training. According to his club AS Roma, the procedure went "as planned".
The 23-year-old had sustained the injury during the World Champions' preparations for EURO 2016 and Rüdiger had to be replaced by Leverkusen's Jonathan Tah. The centre back will begin a rehabilitation program soon.
