Chelsea FC have completed the signing of Germany international Antonio Rüdiger from AS Roma. On Sunday, Chelsea confirmed that the Confederations Cup winner had signed a five-year contract at the club.
“I think the Premier League is the best league in the world. It’s an incredible feeling. Not every player gets the chance to sign for such a big club. I thought about it a lot and decided that I will never know if I will get another opportunity like this,” said the 24-year old centre-back. “I’m looking forward to getting to know my teammates and I am very proud to officially be a Chelsea player.” Rüdiger thanked his former club AS Roma for two fantastic years in Rome.
Rüdiger moved to AS Roma from VfB Stuttgart in 2015. Since then, he made 72 appearances for the club, scoring two goals.
