Rolser fires Bayern into second

Defending champions Bayern München claimed a crucial win over 1. FFC Frankfurt on Sunday as they look to retain their Allianz Frauen-Bundesliga title. Thomas Wörle’s men ran out 1-0 winners at the Grünwalder Straße thanks to a 27th-minute strike from Nicole Rolser. They have now achieved five successive victories and are second in the table after eight matchdays.

Freiburg bounce back

SC Freiburg came from behind to claim a 2-1 victory over Sand. Having lost their first game of the season last weekend, it was important that the Breisgau side bounced back. However, Sand took the lead after 62 minutes thanks to Nina Burger’s effort. Freiburg reacted well after falling behind and claimed all three points as a result of goals from Carolin Simon (74’) and Carolin Schiewe (79’).

Duisburg secure key points

MSV Duisburg beat TSG 1899 Hoffenheim 1-0 to claim crucial points in their battle against the drop. Lara Heß gave them the lead after 17 minutes but Lee Sima Falkon’s dismissal (37’) meant that the win was anything but routine. They now have six points on the board and are 11th.
