Reus wins Germany’s Goal of the Year 2015

There were seven goals put forward for nomination by the Fan Club powered by Coca-Cola for the Germany goal of the calendar year 2015, each more impressive than the other. In the end, Marco Reus’s goal against Australia was the winner.

The forward won 35.8 percent of the vote, ahead of Mario Götze’s goal to make it 2-0 against Poland (27.2 %) and Thomas Müller’s from the same game (14.8 %). Altogether, 12,496 took part in the vote.

In March 2015, in a game against Australia, Marco Reus sprinted onto the end of a Sami Khedira through ball and slid the ball home to put Die Mannschaft in front. The game at Kaiserslautern’s Fritz-Walter-Stadion finished 2-2.
