Poland into knockout stages with Germany

Poland are into the knock out stages of the European Championship for the first time in their history after beating Ukraine 1-0. Former BVB winger Jakub Blaszczykowski came off the bench in the second half to score the game’s only goal (54’).

Adam Nawalka side, who along with Germany have yet to concede in the tournament, finished level on points with Die Mannschaft, but go through in second place due to a slightly inferior goal difference.

They will now face Switzerland in St. Etienne on Saturday, with star striker Robert Lewandowksi hoping he will be able to finally open his EURO 2016 account.
