Podolski shines on his comeback

World Cup winner Lukas Podolski shines on his comeback at Galatasary. The 31-year old made his comeback from his ankle injury in the 3-1 victory over bottom-placed club Antalyaspor and scored two goals. Podolski came on as a substitute in the second half. He missed the first five matches of the season because of his injury. Galatasary are currently in third place in the league.

Manchester City’s winning streak in the Premier League comes to an end. Tottenham Hotspur beat Manchester City 2-0 on Sunday to end their run of wins in the Premier League.

Alexander Kolarov scored an own goal in the 9th minute to put the Londoners in front. Dele Alli put the hosts 2-0 in the lead in the 37th minute. Erik Lamela missed a penalty for Tottenham in the second half. Germany internationals Ilkay Gündogan and Leroy Sané came on from the bench in the second half. Manchester City stay top of the table despite losing this weekend but only by one point. Arsenal FC are in third place after scoring in the last minute to beat Burnley FC 1-0. Liverpool FC are behind Arsenal in fourth place with 16 points.

Italy: Juventus increase their lead at the top

World Cup winner Sami Khedira helped Juventus Turin to increase their lead at the top of the league. Juventus scored three goals in five minutes to beat relegation candidates FC Empoli 3-0. The victory is their third in a row. Juventus now have 18 points so far this season.

Spain: Real Madrid drop points

Toni Kroos' Real Madrid have dropped points in the league after drawing 1-1 against SD Eibar. Fran Rico put the underdogs in the lead in the 6th minute. Gareth Bale equalised for Real in the 17th minute but that wasn’t enough to earn the victory.

Real Madrid have lost their position at the top of the league to Atletico. Atletico Madrid beat Valencia FC 2-0 just four days after beating FC Bayern München in the Champions League. Antoine Griezmann gave Atletico the lead in the 64th minute. Kevin Gameiro scored the second in injury time.
