Play-offs: U 21 miss victory against Switzerland

The German U 21 national team missed an important victory against Switzerland. The team of coach Rainer Adrion played 1-1 (0-0) in the first leg of the play-offs for Euro 2013 in Israel.

The team came to the fore by Sebastian Rudy, who scored from the penalty spot in the 82th minute. Before Sebastian Polter was fouled in the box, Switzerland's Fabian Schär saw the red card. Only a few minutes before the final whistle Josip Drmic (87.) tied the score.

"We made a committed match. The goal against was hard. I'm positive about shooting goals in Switzerland next week", said coach Adrion after the match.

The second leg is on Tuesday in the Swissporarena in Lucerne.
